The State of the Patch: October!

Good afternoon, Pumpkinistas!

With all of the organizing activity for this year's weigh-off at Peltzer Farms, it was nice to take a few minutes today to show Michelle some of the new developments in the pumpkin patch. The main contender is becoming more orange. Pumpkin #2 is still putting on weight. Overall, as you can see, the ravages of powdery mildew have taken quite a toll on the plants and vines. It is very nice, however, to have two reasonably size pumpkins this year. I am hoping that the main contender goes over 300 pounds, but we shall see!
