Good morning, Pumpkinistas!
These are my seedlings as of 4:00 p.m., May 31, 2009. They are growing nicely and establishing lots of growth in spite of the 50-65 F. degree weather in Huntington Beach. It's getting close to the time to decide which seedling to keep. The seedling had barely sprouted when I transplanted it, has caught up to the older plant.
Yes, I still haven't covered the soaker hose! Plus, I need to trim back the ginger. Soon, very soon!
The big advantage to the cool weather is: There's still time to prepare your mound and patch for this season! Dig that hole while the ground is still soft! Germinate those seeds! Good soil, good seeds, good luck!
